GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS:
Whether in the laboratory, or in production, exclusive Dynacut features insure accuracy, long life and trouble free operation. Dynacut Machines have the accuracy and rigidity to make best use of modern Diamond or abrasive cutting wheels.
Construction: Unitized, all welded cabinet and tank. All parts subject to corrosive action of coolant are either stainless steel, anodized aluminum, or epoxy coated. Alignment of spindle to table is permanent, as in any fine machine tool. There is nothing to get out of adjustment. Full cabinet to floor completely encloses drive, electrics and plumbing. Cabinet is equipped with four leveling screws.
Spindle: Cartridge type -- using sealed for life, precision ball bearings -- the spindle itself is machined and ground stainless steel. The spindle cartridge is enclosed in a heavy cast iron housing to ensure minimum vibration and permanent alignment. The entire spindle assembly is completely sealed from dirt and coolant within a rugged steel housing. Wheel changing is made safe and easy by means of a built-in self-releasing spindle locking device.
A large, lab-style cutting table contains 176 sq. inches of "L" shaped work area equipped with four "T" slots for special jigs and fixtures. A 16" long fence, adjustable for angle or square-cutting, is fitted with stops for production runs. The fence can be moved along the "T" slots to compensate for blade wear or other purposes. Another stop is provided for limiting table travel.
The cutting table travels on ball bearings running on two fixed stainless steel shafts permanently aligned to frame and spindle during manufacture. While assuring long, trouble-free operation, all bearings are easily replaceable after prolonged usage to maintain the machine's original accuracy. The stainless steel shafts and ball bearings are additionally protected from excessive wear by Neoprene bellows which exclude coolant and grit.
An exclusive internal coolant system minimizes splash while providing maximum cooling to the cutting blade. The unique hollow-shaft spindle supplies water or coolant to the specially-designed machined-port blade flanges which thoroughly saturate both sides of the cutting blade by centrifugal action. Because both sides are cooled equally, the blade wears evenly, cuts more accurately, and eliminates side wear. The rate of coolant flow, once adjusted, remains constant. Readjustment, however, may quickly and safely be made by means of a hand control valve located on the machine front. The elimination of frequent adjustments of external pipes and hoses increases operator efficiency.
A coolant pump with built-in mounting is included on standard machines for recirculating coolant from tank. If direct hookup to a central coolant system is desired, an electrically operated valve is available. For heavy production cutting, the Dyna-Cut can be connected to an external coolant unit mounted alongside machine. With this type of system, the tank on the machine acts as a chip and sludge collectro while its coolant unit concentrates fine debris from cutting. This unit may be cleaned while machine is running on a spare one, thus minimizing downtime.
A variety of motor drives are available, from 1 HP to 7-1/2 HP, depending on the work to be done. Motors are mounted on a heavy, adjustable mount inside cabinet base. Standard drive is by means of special precision molded V belts to insure long life and quiet running.
